About us
We purchased the house back in 1991, primarily as a holiday home, never dreaming that one day we would live here permenantly. Time went by and year after year we managed to do a bit to the house in our holidays and in between touring europe on the bikes.
In the year 2000 we had the opportunity to come to France to live and work. We were offered a job at a privately owned chateau in the Loire Valley as caretakers, something completely different to what we had been used to. It was a breath of fresh air and we happily lived and worked at the chateau for 6 years. We then decided we would like to move 'home' to Trebeslin (having sold up in UK this was our only house!). So we then had the builders in to start the major renovations and we're now enjoying sharing our home with like minded people.
Motorcycling has always been a large part of our lives, Kim having passed her test in 1984 and Les further back than he cares to remember. Both of us were regular competitors in long distance trials when we lived in UK (the only thing we miss from UK), and have travelled extensively in and around Europe. Les was also an instructor/examiner in a motorcycle training centre as well as passing his I.A.M. tests for motorcycles, cars and commercial vehicles.
We both still enjoy our motorcycling, Les currently riding a BMW F700GS 800 twin, Kim a BMW F700GS 800 twin and a Triumph Street Triple plus a couple of 250 off-roaders for a bit of green laning when we get the time! We've also recently acquired a very nice 1957 Matchless G11 600 twin for days when we fancy something different or for Les to get dirt under his fingernails again!
Another passion of Kim's is the garden, so finally, after all these years and the last of the diggers and trucks have been in, we've been able to create a garden from the wilderness and Kim is more often than not found digging and pottering in the garden whilst Les is tinkering in the garage!
We have lots of information to share with you about local places to visit, longer trips if you feel more adventurous or are en-route to an area we've been to.
